On September 15, 2026, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University hosted a scientific and practical seminar, “Biographical Studies and Regional History (on the Occasion of the 75th Anniversary of S. M. Kudelko),” held in a hybrid format. The Department of Historiography, Heritage Studies, and Archaeology acted as one of the co-organizers of the event.
The event was dedicated to the memory of a Professor of the Department of Historiography, Heritage Studies, and Archaeology, the long-standing head of the Academician P. T. Tronko University Centre for Ukrainian Studies and Local History, and an outstanding Ukrainian historian and local history scholar, Sergiy Kudelko (1951–2026).
The participants were welcomed by the Acting Rector of V. N. Karazin KhNU, Prof. Oleksandr Golovko, the Vice-Dean of the School of History, Assoc. Prof. Yevhen Zakharchenko, and the Vice-Chairman of the National Union of Local Historians of Ukraine, Prof. Ruslana Mankovska. Reports were presented by the Head of the Department, Prof. Sergiy Posokhov, and Associate Professor of the Department, Director of the Academician P. T. Tronko University Centre for Ukrainian Studies and Local History, Olha Vovk.
A commemorative pool of photos was also presented, along with a portrait of Sergiy Kudelko painted by the People’s Artist of Ukraine, Viktor Kovtun. His colleagues and friends from Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Riga, and other cities shared their memories. Finally, a discussion took place regarding the concept of a future memorial book, and a proposal was voiced to establish a memorial lecture hall named after Sergiy Kudelko at V. N. Karazin KhNU.
