Participation in the academic conference "Sumtsov Readings"
On April 18, 2024, the XXX Sumtsov Readings were held at the M.F. Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum, within the framework of which the All-Ukrainian scientific conference "The Museum in the Global World: Innovations and Preservation of Traditions" took place. This conference was dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the renowned scholar and public figure Mykola Fedorovych Sumtsov (1854–1922).
Representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, and scholars from higher education institutions in Kharkiv greeted participants from all corners of Ukraine. Words of welcome were also delivered by members of the conference organizing committee – the head of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology S.I.Posokhov and the professor of the same department, director of the Center for Ukrainian Studies and Local Lore named after academician P.T.Tronko at Karazin Kharkiv National University S.M.Kudelko.
About 80 scholars and local historians responded to the committee's invitation and submitted their abstracts, delivered speeches, and presented reports in six conference sections. The plenary and sectional presentations sparked lively discussions and debates.
