Among the five departments comprising the V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University’s Faculty of History, the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology is the only one founded on disciplinary principles. It is a unique association of specialists in a group of related fields – historiography, archaeology, source studies, heritage studies, museum studies, archival studies, local history, art history, etc. The Department takes pride in the continuity of its traditions, but at the same time our faculty and staff are often at the forefront of innovation. We have been leading the University ranking among the humanities departments for many years.
