“Sketches of university scholarship: Kharkiv University in the 1940s-1980s”
In 2006, the Department began the realization of the project “Sketches of university scholarship: Kharkiv University in the 1940s-1980s.” Interviews with professors, instructors, and graduates of the university were conducted on the basis of specially developed questionnaires. To date, approximately 350 people have been interviewed. The materials gathered in the course of the project have become the basis of a special collection at the Museum of History of Kharkiv University.
“Student construction movement at Kharkiv University”
In 2013, a committee was created at the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University for the writing of a history of Kharkiv University’s student construction gangs. The group of researchers included several undergraduate and graduate students and faculty members of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology. Overall, 15 participants in student construction gangs have been interviewed, most of whom at different times worked in the northern regions of the USSR. The audio files, transcripts, and protocols of the gathered interviews are preserved as part of the collection of oral history materials at the Museum of History of Kharkiv University.
