On June 11–12, 2026, Yevhen Rachkov, Associate Professor of the Department of Historiography, Heritage Studies, and Archaeology, participated in the 11th International Research Conference “Faces of War”, dedicated to the theme “Borders.”

During the conference, he delivered a paper entitled “Constructing the Boundaries of Memory: The Digital Heritage of the Russo-Ukrainian War.” The presentation focused on a database currently being developed as part of the research project “DIGITAL HERITAGE in Ukraine: Documenting Digital Projects.” The project was launched in 2024 by the CityFace Research Initiative with the support of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Alberta.

The paper outlined the key principles guiding the development of the database and highlighted its potential as a tool for researching and promoting Ukraine’s digital heritage. Work on populating the web resource is ongoing, and its official launch is scheduled for the near future.

The conference brought together scholars working on a wide range of issues related to war, collective memory, heritage, and identity within the frameworks of frontier studies and historical limology. The conference was organized by the Polish Historical Society and the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Lodz (Poland).
