On April 17, 2026, faculty members of the Department of Historiography, Heritage Studies, and Archaeology participated in the All-Ukrainian scholarly conference “The Museum in the Age of Metamodernism: Contemporary Challenges and New Horizons,” dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. The event was held within the framework of the 32nd Sumtsov Readings and organized by the M.F.Sumtsov Kharkiv Historical Museum.
The Head of the Department, D.Sc. (History), Professor Sergiy Posokhov, as well as Ph.D. (History), Professor Sergiy Kudelko, Director of the Petro Tronko Center for Ukrainian Studies and Local History, took part in organizing the conference. Prof. Posokhov delivered opening remarks. In turn, Ph.D. (History), Associate Professor Valerii Skyrda presented the paper “Archaeological Research of the H. S. Skovoroda Kharkiv Museum of Local History in the First Postwar Years” (co-authored with V.Aksyonov).
