At the age of 76, the renowned artist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, a kind-hearted, benevolent, sincere, and generous person — Nina Semenivna Verbuk (10 June 1949 – 12 July 2025) — has passed away.
Nina Semenivna was well known to many art enthusiasts, admired for her extraordinary talent, embodied in her radiant, life-affirming works imbued with profound philosophical meaning.
She leaves behind a significant artistic legacy. Her paintings have been exhibited in numerous exhibitions and are held in many museum and private collections.
She donated her personal collection to museums in Kharkiv and the region; in particular, in 2019, she presented an extensive selection of her vivid works to V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. She also established two creative prizes named after A. F. Luniov (in honour of a Karazin University alumnus, renowned educator, museologist, and founder of the Parkhomivka Art Museum): one for the best student presentation at the All-Ukrainian Local History Conference for Young Scholars (in 2014) and another for the All-Ukrainian Conference “Luniov Readings” (initiated in 2011 and held annually at our university). Her paintings and graphic works were repeatedly exhibited at the university, in the Heinrich Semiradsky Art Gallery, at the Faculty of History, and in the exhibition hall of the Central Scientific Library. She generously donated her works, which continue to adorn and will long enrich the university’s cultural space.
We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones.
Blessed be the memory of dear Nina Semenivna!
