On March 19, 2025, as part of a regularly scheduled advising hour (advisor – Associate Professor of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology, Olha Pavlova), a meeting was held with third-year students of group IS-31 and faculty alumna Karyna Iliina (Serykova), a history teacher and social pedagogue at the Municipal Institution “Kharkiv Lyceum No. 103,” operated by the Kharkiv City Council.
Karyna shared vivid recollections of her time as a student, offering engaging stories from her academic life at the School of History and discussing the key factors that shaped her decision to pursue a career in teaching. She highlighted how the knowledge and skills acquired during her university years continue to inform and support her professional practice. In addition, she spoke about her current work in the school system, answered students’ questions with enthusiasm, and conveyed her genuine passion for the teaching profession–demanding, yet profoundly important and fulfilling.
