On February 3, 2025, a solemn meeting of the Rectorate was held as part of the ongoing series of events marking the 220th anniversary of the founding of Karazin University. During the meeting, university staff members and collectives who had distinguished themselves in the fields of science, education, and public engagement were honored with awards.
Among the awardees were representatives of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology of the School of History. In particular, the department's collective was granted a Certificate of Appreciation from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in recognition of its significant achievements in scientific, technical, and innovative research, its efforts in engaging young scholars, and its promotion of science. The award also acknowledges the department’s active contribution to national and international solidarity for the advancement of scientific knowledge and its role in fostering progress toward victory and peace in Ukraine.
Professor Sergiy Posokhov, Head of the Department, was awarded the Badge of Honor of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "For Scientific and Educational Achievements" in recognition of his initiative, perseverance, high professionalism, conscientious service, and substantial personal contribution to the development of education and science in Ukraine.
Professor Sergiy Kudelko received the "Badge of Honor of the Kharkiv Regional Council 'For Merit to Kharkiv Region'" for his long-standing academic and pedagogical work, his significant contribution to the preservation of historical memory, and his efforts in commemorating participants of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and Joint Forces Operation (JFO), as well as volunteers and servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are defending the country against Russian occupiers.
Lecturer Olha Vovk was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration for her active civic engagement, significant personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian statehood, and efforts in reviving historical values.
