From June 28 to July 18, 2024, students of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology completed local history production practice. Its leaders from the department were the head, Prof. Serhiy Posokhov and Prof. Serhiy Kudelko. The internship took place on the basis of the Academician P. T. Tronko Centre of Ukrainian Studies and Local History of V. N. Karazin KhNU.
During practice, students worked on the implementation of individual creative tasks. Their projects were united by local and historical topics with a special emphasis on the problems of research, protection and use of cultural heritage. While creating the projects, students (when possible) visited local museums and objects of historical and cultural heritage.
The current location of students also influenced the choice of topics for individual assignments. In this regard, a number of projects were based on the local historical material of foreign countries, etc., although a significant number of them were traditionally associated with the Kharkiv region. During the three weeks of practice, the students recorded interviews, developed booklets, web resources, excursion routes, prepared surveys of a local history and biographical nature, etc.
During the period of local history production practice, students were able to improve their knowledge of fundamental and applied issues of historical local history and historical regionalism and acquired new skills that they will need in their future professional activities.
