On February 19, 2025, the webinar "Experience of Biographical Mapping: The Kharkiv Context" was held at the "Ukrainika" Department named after T. H. Shevchenko of the V. G. Korolenko State Scientific Library of Kharkiv. The event was dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the founding of Kharkiv University and the 252nd anniversary of the birth of Vasyl Nazarovych Karazin. Approximately 80 participants attended the webinar.
O. I. Vovk, a lecturer at the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology, took part in the event. She presented the historical-geographical map "Karazin’s Kharkiv Region" (authors – Candidate of Historical Sciences O. I. Vovk and Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor V. A. Peresadko, compiler A. V. Pilyuhin).
The project was implemented through interdisciplinary collaboration among university researchers with the support of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization "Union of Archaeologists of Ukraine". This map is one of the few thematic biographical maps in Ukraine and the first dedicated specifically to the Karazin family and the university’s founder, V. N. Karazin.
