​Presentation of the book “Unity of the Dissimilar: The ‘Burime’ Art Association: Interviews, Bibliography” / comp. by O. H. Pavlova, N. I. Polianska, S. I. Posokhov; ed. by S. I. Posokhov

On April 8, 2026, in cooperation with the T. H. Shevchenko “Ukrainika” Department of the V. H. Korolenko Kharkiv Scientific Library, an online presentation of the book “Unity of the Dissimilar: The ‘Burime’ Art Association: Interviews, Bibliography” (Kharkiv: Maidan, 2026 – 114 p.) was held as part of the series “Creative Meetings in Times of War.”

During the presentation, the compilers of the volume spoke about their work. In particular, Serhii Posokhov – Head of the Department of Historiography, Heritage Studies, and Archaeology, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, originator of the concept, and scholarly editor of the volume – along with the bibliography compilers Olha Pavlova (Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor) and Nadiia Polianska (bibliographer at the T. H. Shevchenko “Ukrainika” Department of the V. H. Korolenko Kharkiv State Scientific Library), discussed the book’s conceptual framework, its preparation for publication, and their communication with artists from the “Burime” creative association and with art historians. A substantive review of the publication was presented by the book’s reviewer, art historian and member of the Kharkiv branch of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Olha Denysenko. Additional contributions were made by Mykhailo Krasikov (Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Cultural Studies, and the History of Science at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”), Viktoriia Bohdanova-Naidenko (PhD in Art History, Head of the Department of History and Theory of Art at the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts), Mykhailo Saianyi (Director of the Zmiiv Local History Museum), Larysa Kozoriz (specialist at the V. H. Korolenko Kharkiv State Scientific Library), and others.

An important part of the meeting was the presentations by the founders of “Burime” – Oleh Lazarenko, Oleksandr Lysenko, and Oleksandr Shekhovtsov – who shared vivid recollections of the association’s history and reflected on the principles of their collaborative artistic practice.
