The local history field practice has commenced for third-year students of the School of History. At V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, this program has been running since 2013, based at the Academician P. T. Tronko Centre for Ukrainian Studies and Local History. Scientific and methodological support is provided by the Department of Historiography, Heritage Studies, and Archaeology.
On July 1, 2026, an inaugural conference was held, attended by students as well as internship supervisors from the school, departments, and the internship host institution. Yevhen Zakharchenko, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the School of History, welcomed the attendees. Olha Vovk, head of the practice host institution, outlined the framework for professional interaction, the main topics, and the formats for creative projects.
Following the general meeting, the work continued in groups, where departmental supervisors conducted occupational health and safety briefings and discussed organizational matters. The group of interns from the Department of Historiography, Heritage Studies, and Archaeology is led by the Head of the Department, Professor Sergiy Posokhov, and Professor Sergiy Kudelko.
