Participation in the Workshop organized by the German-Ukrainian Historical Commission

From August 26-30, 2024, Associate Professor Yu.Kiselova participated in the Workshop organized by the German-Ukrainian Historical Commission, titled “(Not) Far from the War: The Russo-Ukrainian War in Refugees’ Testimonies, Oral Histories, and Diaries,” and in the Summer school by the Ukrainian Oral History Association, titled “Witnessing the War in Ukraine: Testimony in the Pursuit of Justice.” These events took place in Wrocław, at the Zajezdnia History Centre. The workshop's theme, which focused on the ethics of testimonies, their collection, and interpretation, was complemented by a series of inspiring presentations from the summer school speakers, dedicated to issues of achieving justice during and after the war. The workshop was centered around theoretical aspects, while the summer school speakers presented practical approaches to seeking justice. During her participation in these academic events, Yu.Kiselova presented a joint oral history project with V.Ivashchenko, titled “Movement to the West: Ukrainian Scholars in Conditions of Forced Migration (2014-2024),” and discussed its results with experts and colleagues.
