From August
26-30, 2024, Associate Professor Yu.Kiselova participated in the Workshop
organized by the German-Ukrainian Historical Commission, titled “(Not) Far from
the War: The Russo-Ukrainian War in Refugees’ Testimonies, Oral Histories, and
Diaries,” and in the Summer school by the Ukrainian Oral History Association,
titled “Witnessing the War in Ukraine: Testimony in the Pursuit of Justice.” These events took place in Wrocław, at the Zajezdnia History Centre. The
workshop's theme, which focused on the ethics of testimonies, their collection,
and interpretation, was complemented by a series of inspiring presentations
from the summer school speakers, dedicated to issues of achieving justice
during and after the war. The workshop was centered around theoretical aspects,
while the summer school speakers presented practical approaches to seeking
justice. During her participation in these academic events, Yu.Kiselova
presented a joint oral history project with V.Ivashchenko, titled “Movement
to the West: Ukrainian Scholars in Conditions of Forced Migration (2014-2024),”
and discussed its results with experts and colleagues.
