​The Karazin Readings Took Place

On April 25, 2025, the 78th International Conference of Young Scientists “Karazin Readings” was held at the School of History of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Employees of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology actively participated in its organization and conduct.

So, the Head of the Department, Professor S. I. Posokhov, headed the “Historiography” section; Associate Professor V. V. Skirdа – the “Archaeology” section; Associate Professor O. H. Pavlova – the “History of Culture of the 20th–21st Centuries” section, and Lecturer O. I. Vovk – the “Source Studies and Special Historical Disciplines” section.

Also, at the plenary session of the conference, Professor S. I. Posokhov presented the B. K. Myhal and Yu. Y. Zhuravsky Prize. It was established in 2013 in honour of two prominent historians, professors of the School of History of Kharkiv University. The award is presented for the best reports on the history of Ukraine and historiography. This year, the prize was granted to M. V. Protsenko, a postgraduate student of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology (academic advisor – Professor S. M. Kudelko), and Ye. Spasionova, a third-year student of the Faculty of History (academic advisor – Associate Professor Ye. Yu. Zakharchenko).

In total, 15 sections operated during the conference, with representatives from 37 institutions of higher and secondary education, research institutes, libraries, archives, and museums taking part.
