​Professor Sergiy Mykhailovych Kudelko Has Passed Away

On August 19, 2026, the heart of Professor Sergiy Mykhailovych Kudelko stopped beating. He was a professor in the Department of Historiography, Heritage Studies, and Archaeology, an Honored Teacher of Karazin University, and an Honorary Citizen of the City of Kharkiv.

Professor Kudelko’s entire professional career was closely associated with our department, where he taught for more than half a century. Over the years, he educated several generations of historians and initiated numerous academic conferences, round tables, summer schools, and student field programs – in short, many of the activities that give university life its genuine character and enrich its intellectual community.

Sergiy Mykhailovych will remain in the hearts of his colleagues and students as a scholar of extraordinary erudition and as a person of exceptional warmth, integrity, and refinement.

We deeply mourn this irreparable loss and bow our heads in remembrance of our beloved teacher.
