On 9–10 June 2025, the defenses of bachelor’s theses by full-time students of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology took place.
The qualification research covered a broad range of topics within heritage studies (including issues related to the registration of destroyed monuments, their protection, and restitution), art studies (the activities of cultural and artistic societies in Ukrainian territories, manifestations of Impressionism in Ukrainian painting, the reflection of historical events in literary and musical works), museum studies (historical and contemporary aspects of museum activities), historical biography (a study of the childhood and youth of Ilya Mechnikov), historical urban studies (research on the cultural landscapes of Ukrainian cities and the specifics of the representation of city images in historical sources), archaeology (issues of metalworking in the Saltovo-Mayaki culture tribes), and ethnology (the transformation of female images in Ukrainian mythology). Thus, the topics of the bachelor’s research encompassed all the main scientific directions of the department.
The high quality of the presented works is evidenced by the evaluations assigned by the members of the State Attestation Commission. Of the 12 students in the department, five received the grade “excellent,” seven – “good,” and two – “satisfactory.”
We warmly congratulate our students and their academic supervisors on their successful defenses! We wish the graduates successful career development and look forward to seeing them again in the framework of the master’s and doctoral programs.
