On March 24, 2025, the Club of Historiography, Source Studies, and Special Historical Disciplines held a meeting, where fourth-year student Olena Omelych delivered a presentation. Her takl was titled: "Art That Crosses Borders: The Cooperation Between the Parkhomivka Art Museum and the Old Masters Picture Gallery in Dresden from the 1960s to the 1980s."
Drawing on unique historical documents preserved in the Art Library of the Dresden State Art Collections, the speaker analyzed correspondence and reconstructed the circumstances of the collaboration between members of the historical and artistic club "Rainbow", which operated at the Parkhomivka Art Museum founded by A. F. Lunyov, and the director of the Dresden Art Gallery. This cooperation resulted in several trips of club members to Dresden and, most importantly, in international recognition and support for the mission selflessly carried out in a small Ukrainian village by the art enthusiast and teacher A. F. Lunyov.
The audience was also particularly interested in the remarks of O. H. Pavlova, who not only shared her thoughts on the presentation but also recalled her personal memories of the Parkhomivka Museum.
We sincerely thank everyone who attended! We look forward to continuing the discussion on the work of Afanasii Fedorovych Lunyov and his students in this anniversary year for the Parkhomivka Art Museum!
