Meeting of the Club of Historiography, Source Studies, and Auxiliary Historical Disciplines

On March 30, 2026, a meeting of the Club of Historiography, Source Studies, and Auxiliary Historical Disciplines was held, featuring a presentation by fourth-year student Lidiia Kuzmenko. The session, titled “Myths of Heritage Studies: Representations of the History of the Poltava Exaltation of the Cross Monastery in Soviet Publications,” was conducted in the format of an interactive game-discussion. It focused on analyzing specific interpretations of the monastery’s history in Soviet heritage and local history publications.

The proposed activities sparked lively discussion among participants. At the same time, the broader issue of characterizing Soviet historiography provided a foundation for a more extensive conversation about the nature of historical scholarship, the differences between interpretations of the past in local history and academic discourses, and the ethical engagement with historiographical heritage.
