Meeting of the Department’s Art History Club Held in Cooperation with Murafa Lyceum

On 29 May 2026, an online meeting of the Department’s Art History Club was held in cooperation with Murafa Lyceum of the Krasnokutsk Settlement Council, Bohodukhiv District, Kharkiv Oblast. The meeting was devoted to the topic “The Role of the Local Historian and the Museum in Heritage Preservation: History Close at Hand.”

A presentation on the establishment of the local history museum at Murafa Lyceum in 2024 was delivered by Ihor Babak, a second-year student of the Faculty of History. The meeting featured an engaging discussion with the participation of the initiators and organizers of the school museum, including the Lyceum Director, L. Tsovma, and local historians I. Yukhno and I. Panchenko.

Participants learned a great deal about the history of the museum movement in the Krasnokutsk district, the establishment of a school local history museum in the mid-twentieth century, and the experience of creating a local history museum at the Lyceum under contemporary conditions. They also had the opportunity to learn about the museum’s collection directly from its organizers.

We thank all participants for the collegial discussion and friendly atmosphere, and we wish the museum organizers and local history researchers many new discoveries and achievements in their work.
