Meeting of Students with Anna Naif Andrushishyna

On April 18, 2025, at the initiative of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology, within the framework of the special course "Problems of Conservation and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Monuments" (taught by Associate Professor O. H. Pavlova), a meeting took place between first-year graduate students and Anna Naif Andrushishyna, the chief curator of the collections at the Archaeological Museum of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

During the meeting, Anna Naif introduced the students to the main challenges facing the development of museum practices in Ukraine, as well as the activities of Ukrainian and international organizations that support the museum sector in the country. Special attention was given to the issues of preservation, conservation, and restoration of museum objects that Kharkiv museums, including the Archaeological Museum, have encountered amid the full-scale Russian invasion.

The students had the opportunity to explore specific examples of the preservation and restoration of archaeological finds made from metal, ceramics, bone, horn, leather, and glass, and they were able to ask questions.

We sincerely thank Anna Naif Andrushishyna for the insightful and engaging meeting!
