On July 1, 2025, the local history field practice for students of the Faculty of History at Karazin University officially commenced. On this occasion, the students met with their supervisors from the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology, Professor Sergiy Posokhov (Head of the Department) and Professor Sergiy Kudelko, as well as with the on-site coordinator, Olha Vovk, lecturer in the department and Deputy Director of the University’s P. T. Tronko Center for Ukrainian Studies and Regional History.
The introductory meeting included a safety briefing, a discussion of the framework for student-supervisor interaction, and the presentation of a range of potential topics for student-led creative projects. Additionally, the structure and thematic content of the distance-learning course, officially certified as an educational and methodological resource, was introduced. These materials are intended to support students in the completion of their practical assignments.
The session concluded with an opportunity for participants to ask clarifying questions.
The local history field practice at Karazin University has been conducted since 2013. Experience from previous years confirms its value as a key stage in the training of highly qualified professionals in the historical disciplines.
