Internship at the fully-online institute "NetworkLab: NEH Institute for Remote Collaboration"

Associate Professor of the Department, Yulia Kiselyova, successfully completed an internship at the fully-online institute "NetworkLab: NEH Institute for Remote Collaboration," which she attended from October 13, 2023, to October 4, 2024. The institute was organized by GreenHouse Studios (an interdisciplinary research unit from the University of Connecticut’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Library, and School of Fine Arts) and sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (US).

The institute's work was focused on helping participants integrate methods specifically designed for remote work into their project teams. This included building cohesive teams, facilitating equitable participation, encouraging positive engagement from remote team members, and utilizing remote collaboration tools. Key topics covered included the values and ethics of Digital Humanities collaboration, the essentials of human-centered experience design, building productive and equitable teams, and tools for managing online and hybrid teams (Slack, Miro, Airtable).
