Joint Meeting of the Department's Clubs

On February 18, 2024, a joint meeting of the Art History, Historiography, Source Studies, and Auxiliary Historical Disciplines clubs of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology took place, dedicated to the restoration and study of easel painting. The presentation was given by Viktoriia Kondra, a 4th-year student of the Department of Restoration of Art Works at the Lviv National Academy of Arts. She introduced the attendees to the profession of a restorer, discussing in particular the complex and responsible process of organizing and restoring easel artworks, characterizing contemporary restoration practices, and sharing her personal impressions from studying at the academy.

The report generated great interest among the attendees. During the discussion, a number of interesting questions were raised, to which the speaker provided substantive answers. There were also insightful comments, and participants shared their own experiences in heritage preservation, particularly in restoration practice.

We are very grateful to Viktoriya and all the attendees! We wish Viktoriia success in defending her thesis and further scientific and professional achievements!
