On December 27, 2022, the jubilee exhibition “Hryhorii Skovoroda in the artistic heritage of Kharkiv artists” was opened in the conference hall of the Central Scientific Library of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The event was co-organized by YermilovCenter and P. T. Tronko Center for Ukrainian Studies and Area Studies.
Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work of V. N. Karazin KhNU, Professor Olexandr Golovko greeted visitors of the event. Professor of the Department of History of Ukraine Ludmila Posohova, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Professor Ivan Karpenko, Director of the Museum of Astronomy Vadym Kaydash, Director of YermilovCenter Nataliya Ivanova, Director of the Central Scientific Library Iryna Zhuravlyova also spoke with congratulatory words. The moderator of the event was the deputy director of TronkoCenter O. I. Vovk.
The dean of the School of History Serdiy Lytovchenko, the head of the Department of Historiography, Source Studies and Archeology, professor Serdiy Posokhov, and professor of the same department Serdiy Kudelko also visited the event.
The exhibition presents 12 sheets of graphic works. They were created by famous artists, e.g. a corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine Oleksandr Khmelnytskyi, People’s Artists of Ukraine Anatoliy Nasedkin and Hryhoriy Tomenko, Valentin Syzykov and Yevhen Tregub, Honored Artist of Ukraine Petro Shihymaga and other well-known people. This cycle was prepared for the 250th anniversary of Hryhorii Skovoroda, which was celebrated in 1972.
The visitors had the opportunity not only to admire the pieces of art, but also to view the thematic book exhibition and to enjoy ancient chorales, songs and romances, the words and music of which were created by Hryhorii Skovoroda.
